Why do we use soy wax?

We are often asked why we choose to make our candles using soy wax. There are various other waxes out there that can be used, and the main competitor to soy, is paraffin wax. There are multiple reasons why we choose not to use paraffin and although soy wax candles are a little more expensive, they are 100% worth the few extra pennies and here's why.

Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. After harvesting, the beans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled, and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated.
